Money Makes The World Go Around
If money makes the world go round, it’s no wonder life can grind to a halt when we don’t have enough. Some people simply don’t have enough coming in but others could benefit from tips to stretch and grow what they do have. That’s where Clean Slate and Quids in!, our money skills project, come in.
Quids in! publishes a quarterly magazine, a monthly money email and a website, (see it here). We also produce a range of guides including one on Universal Credit, new tenancies and on managing meals on a limited budget. In some areas social landlords buy the products or licence our emails and provide them free to tenants. Some councils do this with our guides. They can also be purchased here.
From our Quids In Centres in London, Bath, Gloucestershire and Wales, we provide support by phone, online and (when not in lockdown) from community spaces like cafes, libraries and council offices. Who doesn’t want to be better off? Our support staff walk people through a money health-check and identify ways to spend less, save more, borrow less and bring home more money.
When open, our work in communities includes supported access to the internet so people can organise their finances and find work or better paid work. We also deliver training workshops where people meet others in a similar situation and explore ways to become better off.
