Clean Slate Training & Employment is helping people through the cost-of-living crisis and we're growing fast. We are not the usual kind of support agency. And we are not a typical employer. We see the people we’ve helped, or want to help, as the experts who we need working for us.
Many of those struggling to make money go round have busy lives and some have been out of work for a while. Previous Peer Workers tell us that sometimes just a few hours a week can be a great way to see what we can do. The idea is that after a couple of months employed on this basis, people can apply for bigger roles.
Clean Slate, in partnership with the Bath & North East Somerset Council Integrated Care Board, are hiring Peer Workers to address the recruitment crisis across the social care and support sectors. We know there are people out there who have what it takes to thrive in these sectors because they have lived experience.
After enrolling into our Elements Programme we will offer you free Peer Support Worker training, Professional Frameworks training and qualifications relevant for working within the care sector . Additionally, we will provide support and coaching sessions throughout the placement, so that at the end of the programme, you will feel confident in applying for a permanent role in this sector.
You will be placed at one of the following locations, working 3. 5 hours a week for 12 weeks, and you will get paid £10.42 per hour (support worker, housekeeping and catering roles available).
You don’t need experience in a similar job, your life experience is enough, and you will receive full training. Nor will you need an interview, we’ll get to know you as you take part in our support programmes. You will need to speak and write in English to an okay standard. (It doesn’t need to be perfect – in fact a second language is a bonus for us!). Get in touch if you want to hear more about this.
The care home roles that we have available are Support Workers, Catering Assistants and Housekeeping Assistants.
